Tax Comment Disclaimers

I often talk about tax law in documents, blog posts, emails, chat rooms, community forums, and face-to-face discussions. You probably found this page linked from my blog or one of my messages.

Here are three disclaimers that apply to all of my tax communications:

1. I am not a lawyer or a tax professional. I speak on taxes in a personal capacity; my comments reflect my own views and not those of any employer or organization.

2. Although I share information and express opinions about the law, you should not regard what I say as legal advice. Legal advice is something that only lawyers can give you.

3. I strive for accuracy, but mistakes can happen. I don’t assume any financial responsibility for your reliance on things I tell you. In other words, it’s all “use at your own risk”.

All of my tax writing is authentically composed.
